Episode 6: Creating a Compassionate Life through Metta & RAIN

Highlight Podcast Quote: “It’s hard to have lasting happiness as an island in a sea of misery”

Our next topic inspired by Dan Harris’s book, Ten Percent Happier, focuses on the concept of compassion, why it’s important, and a Buddhist story about how compassion connects us to our environment.

There have been countless studies and articles discussing how compassion leads to a more fulfilled sense of self.  In this episode, our Mischievous Panda hosts explore the concept of compassion in a bit more detail.  Dr. T and Grace discuss what resonated with them from the book.  Grace shares her own experience with the practice of RAIN as an exercise in building her self-compassion muscle.  Dr. T shares how he got into Metta meditation and a memorable Buddhist story about how compassion is interwoven with the environment around us.

We hope you’ll join us for this interesting episode.  Let’s all put more compassion and positive energy into the world around us!
